I’m fascinated by the way images evoke emotions while only experiencing it with one of our senses.

I spent my childhood in Peru and it presented opportunities for me to visit other countries worldwide. I felt connected to those who captured a snap of my life to be shared elsewhere.

I’m excited to live another day with the reminder that there’s more to life than what I have seen. Travel revives the creativity inside me and my eyes are opened to tiny details that can be so easy to miss. It’s fresh air bringing me back to the surface after holding my breath through everyday life.

Peru holds a special place in my heart. Having spent the majority of the childhood there, it embedded it’s people and culture into my heart. I feel more connected to Peru than my birthplace, that is the country I currently live in. The lifestyle my family chose brought many challenges for all of us. Learning how to make new connections taught us all how to be vulnerable. Now that I am here, I can’t imagine trading a fraction of that experience for anything else.

A Pentax landed in my hands on my fifteenth birthday and at the time, I had no idea such a small gift would have such a big impact on my life.

Photography helped me find a new perspective on the life that I lived. What was everyday life to me was shared with eyes that never tasted my “normal.” I had spent most of my life in front of a camera and I finally had the opportunity to be behind it. The idea of capturing life from my perspective became an escape for me. An image has the power to convey your experience to others and discovering that power was life-changing.

I want to capture who you are and how you love.
